I have to admit it that I was never a real lettuce fan, until I saw this TV program where a lettuce farmer in the inner city of LA showed the nutrients coming out of fresh lettuce he just picked.
The nutrients just oozed out of the fresh lettuce.

Few lettuce plants produced lettuce for months. I just kept picking at it until late July.
